Be a part of #TeamHaem!
Haematology Cancer Care has spaces in exciting challenges and events throughout 2026, with our dedicated team ready to support you every step of the way. Plus, find our community events listings here.
If you’re interested in an event not listed here, please get in touch as we can support you with individual and ballot entries too, whatever the challenge.
We also organise our own events together with our haematology staff, including the annual HCC ‘Race across London’, Tough Mudder, Colour Runs and more.

Some of our favourite past events…
Race Across London

Starting in Regent’s Park, teams of haematology staff solve cryptic clues, taking them on a cycle journey across London. The teams hunt for and solve clues (in the fastest time) to win the coveted HCC Race Across London Award! Teams raise funds for HCC, ensuring that we can continue to provide the best possible treatment and care for our patients and families, and support for our staff. Our dedicated nurses, doctors, consultants and staff across the unit are an enormous and integral part of our HCC community.

The 18 Floor Challenge
University College Hospital’s main building on Euston Road has 16 floors; in 2020 our staff came up with a novel idea for fundraising during the pandemic. In teams of eight, they competed in a relay race on the staircase, from floor -2 all the way to the top floor – and back again! A different team took on the challenge each day from Monday to Friday, during one week in May 2020. Each team member made the trip in both directions, with the team’s overall time determining the winner. Thank you #TeamHaem!
